An event not to be missed

Work cataloguing the artefacts in Redditch Library recently uncovered a colour file of everyday live in Redditch in 1957. When this film was last seen, if at all, is not known.

The Redditch Local History Museum were asked to help trace the history of the film and to do that we arranged it to be digitised from its original 16mm format to allow easier access to the contents.

This revealed the film originated as part of the early town twinning with Auxerre and we assume was made to shown residents of Auxerre what life was like in Redditch.

Now in a combined event with the Library the film will be shown at a special event at the library on Tuesday January 31st at 5:30 in the Library. The event is free and the film last for approximately 50 minutes. Depending upon demand additional showings will be organised.
