Our 500th artefact recorded in the archives.

Redditch Local History Museum recently received its 500th donated artefact – a fabulous model of 638 Evesham Road, which will now go on display for visitors. The original house was demolished to make way for the Pinnacle House development but had been owned by Mr Dybeck, the managing director of NiFe Batteries (later Alcad). It adds to the extensive range of artefacts available to view in the museum covering the history of old and newer Redditch – its people, its entertainment, industry, education, buildings, military and many other aspects of the town.

The museum is approaching its first anniversary and volunteers are hard at work cataloging all the donations in more detail so that they can eventually be searched for and viewed online. To see these fascinating items in person, please visit the Museum on Church Green any Thursday to Saturday from 10am – 4pm, or consider volunteering.
