Redditch Old Town
Redditch history stretches back to the 12th century when Cistercian monks came to the area to uild a monastery. It later became the centre to needle making in the world before embracing the industrial revolution to become a manufacturing town. Redditch was once known for its large number of pubs and ale houses. Many Ale Houses for example were run as a side-line of needlemakers, possibly to help make end meet. We are looking to create a register of as many of these establishments as possible.
